It was a superb concert by Cheer Chen & her band during " A Piece of Summer" Tour at Singapore Max Pavilion. She played to near capacity fanatics with an unbelievable 5 Encores ! The fans here were treated to more songs than her Taiwan gig and more encores, too. I guess she was as happy as the fans who had to waited 2 years to see her in this part of the world!

Time : 8.30 pm till 11.10 pm ( 5 encores, some fans had already left after the Fourth) But it was worth the shouting, jumpling about to get Cheer sing 1 more last song !
I was there quite early at Max Pavilion and realised that they are still doing soundcheck at 5pm. I'd also bumped into Cheer Chen's videographer later in the evening and chatted with him. Cheer Chen & band arrived in Singapore on Thursday, 27th Septemeber and they stayed at Rendevous Hotel over at Orchard Road. They did some touring over at Little India and tasted some local dishes (like Indian dishes, Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice and Bak Gut Teh etc). They will be flying back to Taipei tommorrow (Sunday 30th Sept). It seemed that the band stayed quite late for soundcheck on Friday till midnite as well as today. Thank goodness, the audio performance during concert did Cheer Chen's voice justice and it was pretty good !
There were a couple of groupies hearing helmets (as well as hand-made!) to the tune of "Meaning of Travel" 旅行的意義. It was really a blast and Cheer was very happy, too !
There is only 1 new songs and the first hour feature acoustics arrangement of mostly sentimental songs and followed by the electric set at around 9.30 pm. The crowds were at their feet and standing up on their chairs, singing along with Cheers. We were only 5 metre away from Cheer Chen and I felt great ! It was a really a magic concert for everyone of us, including Cheer. A good piece of summer, a better piece of us ! Peace :)
