Martin's Rig

Martin Custom Shop DC28 (1998)

CONDITION: NEAR MINT as I purchased from Blackwood Guitar Shop. The original owner is an American trader/collector who had played this axe for at least several hours only.  This guitar is also rare, which is why he purchased it. It is stamped "Custom" inside on the neck block, because the "DC-28" model was discontinued years ago, and the only way you can get one now is by special order from the Martin Custom Shop.

When this one was ordered, it also was ordered with extra cost Diamond & Square inlays on the fret board instead of the usual dot markers, which gives it the appearance of the higher priced D-40 series. It is a simply spectacular guitar, and any one who desires a D-28, Martins most legendary model, and the standard by which all other dreadnoughts are judged, will fall in love with this unique version on sight.

Stika Spruce top & East Indian Rosewood side & back.

Acoustic Guitar:

Taylor 414ce ('07). Got it for US$2000. Sitka Spruce top with Ovangkol sides and back. It has that Taylor sound! Fretboard is made of Ebony, neck is Mahogany. Plays like a beauty with low action and slick neck.

My guitar & amp are both called Cheer, naturally!

No, it's not a cat. But it's Ultrasound AG50-DS3 acoustic guitar amplifier! It was really an easy choice between the famed Marshall amp AS100D and this cool rocker. The sound it produces really is natural and transparent. Comes with onboard digital effect that has warm analog feel. Got it from Davis Guitar for US$663 (S$995). It is one of the few international dealer for this USA brand. Lucky for me :)

It's an excellent combo--very compact, sturdy, and good looking--and it delivers full-range sound from its pair of 8" coaxial speakers. When you first turn on the UltraSound amp you will not hear the "popping noise" made by most amps and neither will you hear any "white noise". They think this kind of attention to detail only enhances the amp.
